A Summer Day at the Riekes-Cool Garden

Some of our dedicated Riekes Community Service staff members took the initiative to lend a helping hand at the Riekes-Cool Garden last week! This maintenance project aims to preserve and cultivate the local garden while creating an educational space for our community. Under the guidance of chef extraordinaire Jesse Cool, the garden received much-needed weeding and pruning, as well as the planting of new vegetables to add to the already blooming garden!

Riekes Center community garden projects continue to offer comprehensive food education opportunities with Jesse—all with the shared goal of making nutritious food available to anyone, anywhere, and nurturing that important connection to the world around us. Thank you, Jesse, for providing us with this extraordinary learning opportunity for so many of our participants!
